If you have any exercise equipment, why not use it to help charge your car?

It's homegrown, do you have to add pesticides? If not, then it must be all natural and organic.

This makes more sense anyway, as long as the technology is there to make electricity from natural resources the better.

Whatever. Batteries are still old technology. In 200 years, they haven't improved the toxic battery that much...
Battery technology: invented by Alessandro Volta in 1800.
Whatever happened to "clean" hydrogen fuel tech?
Why the new emphasis on old battery and PV tech and the apparent abandonment of hydrogen?

Banned is a little extreme. If you want them adopted long term, they should be available everywhere. Then people can get in the habit of using them even if they aren't helping in the short term. This will have a bigger long term benefit.

Finally someone is starting to realize that electric cars should be banned in areas where electricity is produced by burning coal and oil.

Well, no transportation is zero carbon if there is a human inside as we exhale carbon dioxide.
Begin sarcasm: Hey everyone, cut your carbon footprint. Stop breathing! End sarcasm

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. Such dunderheads and doofuses. We are carbon based life forms. We breathe oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. Plants intake carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

It makes little sense to spend billions to develop electric cars if charging their batteries produces roughly the same amount of carbon dioxide as the most efficient gasoline models.

The Germans are putting us to shame in the alternative power arenas. When I see the naysayers spouting how foolish the idea of alternatives is, I can't help but believe we are now on the outside looking in on this technology and will be completely left out in the cold.

Not everybody is convinced that the dabbling of German carmakers in renewable energies is visionary or even sincere.
