California Assembly OKs bill banning warrantless smartphone tracking

Computerworld -- The legislation would expand U.S. Supreme Court ruling prohibiting GPS tracking of suspects' vehicles without a warrant.

The California State Assembly Wednesday voted to approve legislation that would prohibit state law enforcement personnel from obtaining location data from an individual's GPS-enabled mobile devices without a warrant.

Sounds like CA is trying to do something about it, but in the end, I bet it's leading to more Big Brother.

Doesn't bother me, my vehicle is too old for gps. I don't go anyplace that everyone can't know about.

Too many Bozos in the Gov't are not Law abiding in law enforcement. Note the EPA was using survailance drones in the US as if it was Afghanistan

Too much electronic stuff in use. I would not want to be carrying a device by which someone could track my every move. It is an invasion of privacy.
