E10 reduces gas mileage by 2-5%. You end up paying the same if your MPG price difference equals the price difference. Most people just don't understand this.

We had to pay extra when they added ethanol why should we have to pay extra because they removed it? Gas is way to high now. Its amazing that people would say I'm willing to pay more. It must be nice to have money to piss away. I think the majority of us are smart enough to realize that we are being taken for an expensive ride.

Paying extra would make sense only if it improved gas mileage to the point that it saved you money in the long run.

I agree on principle that E0 should be available at no extra charge. Limited production would however raise the cost of producing it. I would be willing to pay a small premium for E0 and hope that my mileage increases enough to offset it.

Not one cent, it should be cheaper due to not having to pay for the added ethanol!

I would not pay extra. To me 10% ethanol is like a additive, why pay more for gas without this additive?

I don't drive a gasser, but if I did, I wouldn't pay extra unless I could confirm that the car ran better or got significantly better mileage.

I indicated I wouldn't pay extra. One exception to that is for my 22 year old 2 cycle lawn mower and my 70 year old 2 cycle Maytag washing machine engine. My car and pickup do fine on E 10 and when I had a 1966 4 carb Corvair a few years ago I used E 10 since that engine needed the higher octane. E 85 cuts mileage a considerable amount so I don't use it even though my newer car is a flex fuel vehicle. I check mileage on every fill and don't see much difference with e 10 compared to non ethanol fuel.

Since pure gasoline will give you between 4 and 6 percent more miles per gallon, I'd be willing to pay 4 to 6 percent more for the gas. It's an economic wash and gives me a bit more milage between fill ups. Around here that would be in the 8 to 16 cent range.

And with E15 coming soon, we will be cheated even more! Weird how the gas stations in my area like Texaco or Shell has E0 at least I think so because the pump doesn't claim to have at least 10% Ethanol like at Sam's Club,Murphy USA and H-E-B

E10 causes my car to sound awful, especially during the summer (when I drive less anyway). In any case, E10 always cuts my miles per gallon at least 10%, so the 10% ethanol isn't an additive but an adulteration. Think 10% water; it's about as effective.

When Mohawk stations introduced ethanol to gas the price was the same but octane was higher. Then when ethanol became more known/popular the price went up about 3c per litre. Supply vs demand right?
To pay more for gas without ethanol is nuts since presumably an "additive" is something added. If gas companies don't add something we should pay less right? Wrong. Supply/demand for gas companies and other monopolies only applies for increases not decreases - look what happened to the price of diesel!
Here is a tip to increase the power from your engine due to a more complete fuel burning and run cleaner, remove moisture in the gas, reduce emissions from unburnt gasses, allow your engine to run leaner due to a slight increase in octane and improve fuel economy. Buy a can of PURE acetone (Home Depot had the best price). Some gas companies might be adding acetone (you can smell it). Like nail polish.
I have a new car with all sorts of computerized fuel management stuff so I am not adding any to it for now but my previous 2000 Hyundai Elantra ran noticeably better with about 1/4 cup of acetone to 30 litres of gas.
You do have to watch how you handle acetone and some plastics dissolve in acetone. I used one of those plastic joggers water bottles with a hose built in and gave 3 squirts to a tank of gas - not too precise a measurement. Read up on this on the Internet before trying in your car and to find out how much to add. I ran my Elantra for about 5 years and 275,000kms with no problems at all.

Ethanol is made from corn, a food item. We should not be converting food to fuel. Anyway, why pay extra for straight gas? Adding the ethanol caused the price to increase.

Why should I have to pay more for non-subsidized gas? Let those who want to subsidze ethanol pay more! Liberals should pay their own way like the rest of us!

I get almost 10% better mileage on ethanol free fuel so it is worth it to pay more. I have a large yard and many single cylinder implements to help with the chores. I must have E0 fuel for some of them and it is better for all of them. jeff

If I'm not mistaken, we already pay more for E0. I see almost everyday that Meijer's gas stations charge 40 cents less for E10! I wouldn't want that stuff in my engine, either.
