A combination of both; a large portion is highway traveling to and from office; city streets are used for work.

Retired, but that has no bearing, our freeways are so crowded, the lockal streets are the onkly way. Phoenix,AZ And going from west to east across I-10 is a mistake, all local traffic are using I-10! Thanks AZ, our freeway system is so outdated!!!

philmiami, you might want to check out the gas price temperature map just beneath the poll section on this site. Seems like the prices vary sharply by state; one assumes that this is due to state regulations and taxes.

It is interesting to see that the highest prices are in Democrat controlled states. If you are correct and the election does have something to do with gas prices, we had all better hang onto our wallets when the Democrats take over the tax and regulation creation machines.

turnpike/freeway
25 miles + $1.50 tolls
25 miles back home +$1.50 tolls.
so 50 a day+$3 a day tolls
get 270 miles/tank
work 7 days a week now
so about $75-90 a week spent just to work
I said it before and now everyone see's, when the republicans lost congress gas was going to GO UP and see, it is. Does anyone think that the ceo's of Mobil or BP or Shell are 1:democrats and 2: think of the working guy? Hell no.......

Since I've retired, it's about half and half, but the good news is that I only put just under 3,000 miles on the car last year.
