What "spike"? Spike implies prices go up for a short peiod and then come back down. I don't think so.

Yes definitely and it has figured into my decision to retire this year.Living in a rural area means no public transportation and a salary increase of 2.9% would not even cover the increase in my fuel costs to travel to and from work.I only drive when I have to go to an urban area and shop for groceries and then I fill up my tank. I am trying to cut down my trips by planning my shopping to be done once weekly or less.

Yes, I have cut back. Try to make a list of where I have to go and do it in one trip instead of many trips.

Yes, thank God. I was lucky my office moved to a location nearer my home. It is nearer for most of my co-workers, too.
