A 12v Bell Air Ionizer. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00184BNVM/ref=asc_df_B00184BNVM1001131?smid=A2PZAJESBU0SRA&tag=shopzilla_mp_1042-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B00184BNVM

Though mine was only 8 bucks on Clearance at my local walmart.....but yea, it's odd cause my Optima didn't come with cigarette lighters either....granted, it was pre-owned, so maybe they were lost/stolen :P My father told me sometimes the dealers will take out the lighters too, since it can be a "sign" that someone smoked in the car, based on the "ashy" cigarette lighter marks on the coils of the lighter ;)

Now many cars don't come with lighters and some dealers say you can order it as an option. My care came with a lighter, but my wife's did not.

RochBear I suppose throwing cigarette butts out the window is still littering but I don't know if the cops enforce that or not. I see it all the time around here. No one seems to have a cigarette lighter anymore anyway, everyone just uses a lighter. While driving. Scary.

You are correct, we also only have one cigarette lighter, and the others are only 12 volt power supplies. We have five in our SUV.

Next week's poll appeared early - when was the last time you checked your oil. After submitting prices, I come back to vote and we're back to cigarette lighter sockets.

There are 3 of those plug-ins in my truck, which each one is used but I really love my converter plugged in for multiple uses. Now if I could only find my lighter.

I think most smokers don't have the "smoking package" for their cars, since none of the smokers I ever follow seem to have an ashtray in their car. They are ALWAYS flicking the ashes out the window, and then throwing their butts out the window.

Isn't littering still littering, even if it's a cigarette?

gpranger94, some vehicles have USB ports in them now, that interface with the radio to play music/charge a music device.

Somewhere in this mess of a room I have a device that plugs into the ciggie lighter and has a USB port on the end, for charging USB devices from any cigarette lighter. It came with a Bluetooth GPS device I bought years ago for a PDA.

I still find it amazing that only 3% use it for lighting cigarettes -- what are all the people I see smoking use to light their cigarettes?

We are having success at reducing the number of smokers, so the accessory is now used for electronics or other devices. Handy on the 12V fridge for the cottage, as we can keep it cool on the 3 hour drive, and then connect it to solar power with battery backup.
