Tailgating's best: Cars.com rates top vehicles for football fans

GasBuddy Blog -- While many of us really can't sink our teeth into football season until after the Yankees win the World Series, others are more than ready to shift their attention to college and pro football and the joy of beating the point spread.

And for those football fanatics, Cars.com has come up with its list of top cars for the 2012 tailgating season. This is serious business. Even high school football (bowl games) have recorded attendance records of more than 45,000 so it's safe to say that football and tailgating are two things we hold sacred.

Which vehicle is the absolute best of the best for tailgating?

I say pickup truck because you can haul your industrial grill on a trailer. My neighbor does that.

Best tailgating is done at home, and then you have a great seat - since the camera moves down the field.

Plus you don't have to drive to the game, fight the crowds, etc.
