Two Central New York gas stations now sell ethanol-free gas

Syracuse.com -- Syracuse, NY -- At least two Central New York filling stations have started selling ethanol-free gasoline — a move that ought to make boaters, snowmobilers and owners of classic cars happy.

The appearance of ethanol-free gas in the Syracuse area was not prompted by any change in state or federal energy policy but rather a response to the demand for more traditional fuel, according to the Oneida Indian Nation.

The nation starting offering the ethanol-free option in mid-May at its Sav-On station at Routes 13 and 31 in Madison County. The nation plans to begin offering it at a second station at Routes 365 and 31 in coming weeks, according to Sean Brown, director of Sav-On operations.

“There’s a demand for it,” Brown said. “We’ve seen (sales) volumes increasing every week.”

To our representatives are you paying attention? I hope so because we don't need a food source being burned away in our gas tanks that has no useful purpose except politically. GET RID OF ETHANOL.

I wish ethanol would just be gone. It's only a filler that evaporates.. why do you think your mileage is less with fuel that has ethanol over the ones that don't

Wish I could buy ethanol-free gas down here. It figures that the same people who are always dunning us about conserving fuel are the ones forcing us to us the least efficient one.

People should be able to vote on Ethanol.
Do you want corn going to Cows, Chickens & People?
Or do you want it in your cars where you will receive lower MPG?

Oneida? They make eating utensils!
Ethanol free gasoline is available but you have to find it and it will cost more than the E10 or higher stuff. No fuel from food! No government subsidies for ethanol either!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe and reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Ethanol free gas should be classified as an alternative fuel. Then watch ethanol use drop like a brick!
