The Media Won't Touch This Story About The End Of The US Dollar

Business Insider -- Over the past few years China and other emerging powers such as Russia have been quietly making agreements to move away from the US dollar in international trade. Several major oil-producing nations have begun selling oil in currencies other than the dollar, and both the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have issued reports arguing for the need to create a new global reserve currency independent of the dollar.

The supremacy of the dollar is not nearly as solid as most Americans believe it to be. More generally, the United States is not the global superpower it once was. These trends are very much connected, as demonstrated by the world's response to US sanctions against Iran.

Focus2, you have an amazing way of rewriting history cause and effect. Each of those causes you mentioned had nothing to do with the effect you gave.

The US and Canada are allowing too many businesses to move their production to Japan and China. US and Canadian jobs have been killed in the effort.

The Obama administrations policies have greatly devalued the dollar. We are reaping what the Democrats have sown.

This has been coming for a long time and is the consequence of the decision to "open markets" in China. Good for international firms, bad for the American people.

Just a bunch of reactionary BS. So what are you going to buy instead of the dollar? The Yuan? don't think so. The Euro? Look what happened there. The Yen? That's so 1980. Gold? Been there done that. It looks good now, but I wouldn't bet on it's future. The bottom line is (like it or now) there simply is no replacement for the dollar as a global currency.

Libya tried that and look what happened. Don't they know not to mess with the US. We are headed for disaster if we don't do something to turn this nation around. We need to go back to what works, the Constitution.

I'm not surprised. I don't think it'll happen though. I remember few decades ago when they wanted to create an international language (Esperando), and we saw how that worked out. Euro was supposed to be the currency all across EU countries, and yet there are some countries in this union that refuse to switch. What does that tell you about the Euro currency ? At least the dollar is used on ALL the states in the USA.

That's because the media is very liberal. Our problem with the dollar is that Obummer has run up such a deficit and is covering it by printing more money which is getting worthless.

It may have something to do with the fact that the pound has always been THE currency to have and the Euro started out worth more than the dollar when it was first introduced a decade ago (January 1, 2002 to be exact). It means it's OLD NEWS.

Apparently the Wall Street Journal (among many others), don't count as "media." Aka: this has been reported many times over the past few years. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703313304576132170181013248.html

This article is an infomercial. Notice the last line "[The end of dollar dominance is a very ominous sign for the US economy… especially since the federal government seems to be ignoring this enormous elephant. Ignore it at your peril – or get advice from over 30 financial experts that will help you thrive during the tumultuous times ahead.]"

I don't believe anything this article says. They are just trying to make a buck by sowing Fear Uncertainty and Doubt.

This has been coming for a long time, the result of running the printing presses full time (or the digital equivalent) creating a fiat currency. As soon as the dollar loses its standing as the global reserve currency, it will float to its true value, which is rapidly approaching ZERO. This is the collapse of our currency, and with it the collapse of our economy. NObama 2012.
