My Doc said I MUST have an MRI every 6 mo. I had one before surgery then another after (3 mo) now I need a 6 Mo one. someone said they can deny it. Is that true? Even when it is ordered by 2 Cancer Docs? After this I may need at least 3 six mo MRI's then if everythings ok I will go once a year.
Never knew they can deny . Who knows the person could be wrong.

a person does not have to anything they don't want to do even if a doc. wants it done, i have been thru cancer treatments and then colon surgery 2 yrs. later and i refused ALOT of stuff if i thought i could do without, i did my reseach on each and every thing before refusing, i MADE my 2 docs explain the pros and cons of EVERYTHING also. i got a second opinion on what i was stuggling with so i was well informed of the situation i was faced with. i did very well after all of this. less radiation in a lifetime is what i remember when faced with having things done, can't always avoid it but if at all possible i do. i am now a 8 yr. cancer survivor in july. i had great care and wonderful docs who took their time with me and i told them up front that i would question EVERYTHING that would be happening to me, and that i am the boss of me not them. the doc. i see yearly now has become a friend and i am blessed to know him.

An 'order' is simply a doc's approval/authorization for a patient to have a procedure done, and a patient is not required to go thru any medical procedure regardless of orders from a physician. Any doc telling you have to do so, tell 'em to pound sand. I have on more than one occasion.

Had a call from the Doctor today and they said the MRI is all set up and that in this case there is no problem with insurance paying. So thats THAT! I am relieved for sure!!!!
