If you haven't docked and synced your iOS device in a while, Apple has an update.

The iOS 4.3.4 release fixes security problems relating to (who would have guessed?) the display of Adobe Acrobat PDF files.

Wait until you see IOS 5!!! I love being able to sync my iPhone and iPad without ever having to actually take them to the computer room. Wireless sync rules.

While iOS has no difficulty reading PDFs, there is no Adobe code built in to do so.

>> ibook has an adobe patch that can read PDF files

iBook doesn't have *any* code or patch from Adobe. You haven't needed *any* code from Adobe on your Apple device for years!

The Apple update servers were slammed for the first couple of days.

Once I read that, it brings up a question. How many SLOC/man-years did Apple expend on iOS?

I wonder because be probably had 100 man-years crammed into a 1 GB EEPROM.

If you haven't docked and synced your iPhone lately, it has the same patch.

What I noted is there is a HUGE amount of firmware in an iPhone. Probably to be expected, it's an iOS device after all.

It's not like there is any Adobe software built in...
