I got a new 128 GB fourth-generation iPad to replace the 64 GB third-generation iPad I got to get the 4G LTE cellular data. I had a couple of hundred dollars left on an Apple gift card that i got when I sold a MacBook Air to Apple Reuse and Recycling (I thought I only had a few dollars on it) and I'm selling the old one, which will pay about half the cost. And I get most of my Apple stuff at a discount because the company I retired from has an employee/retiree purchase plan that applies to everything but iPhone. For an iPhone, I just as well go the Apple Store which is what I did.

Apple said it would arrive April 1st. UPS really moved on it and it got here on the 28th. Two business days and a weekend earlier than promised.

I've been a longtime Apple user and fan, and it's great to see so many new people here. I have Apple products including a computer that is 20 years and still working. :) I love my iPhone 5 and iPad 2, and will stick with those for the foreseeable future, but for work I will likely get a new Apple laptop soon as my current MacBook Pro is now over 4 years old. It is doing great and gets 20 hours of use a day, 7 days a week.

That was right at the time Apple was upgrading their MacBook Pro line. Did you get the Mid-2012 version like I got in August?

If you want a larger screen for home use, go ahead and buy a 27" Thunderbolt Display. I have one and it works great.

MacBook Pro has a lot more memory than the MacBook Air. And you won't notice the extra pound and a half. My 276 GB of data and software fits nicely on a MacBook Pro but not on a MacBook Air.

My first Apple item was bought in June 2012 (last year): a Macbook Pro 13".
Second item was bought in July 2012: an iPhone 4S.

Love them both immensely - I used to be doubtful of all the hype before our office converted form PC to Mac years ago. My work issued laptop was an Air and I became fiercely loyal to it.

When I had to buy my own computer due to career change, I was torn between the portability of an Air and the practicality of a Pro with its ability for memory upgrades.

I like my 4S but will be holding on to that thing after the contract is up. I may even hold out until the iPhone 7, if I can. :)

I believe the question is "what" do you own, not "how many" do you own... ;-)

You get what you pay for. For example, if you want a $300 laptop, get a PC and be prepared for it to be made from flimsy plastic, with a keyboard that flexes when you type on it, a fan that sounds like a vacuum cleaner, and a battery that barely lasts two hours. For some people that's all they need and they don't mind the downsides. Others would prefer to pay extra for quality materials, quality construction, superior reliability, etc. It's nice to have choices!

Yes, you can purchase a junk PC for a lot less than a Mac.

But MacOS is far superior to Windows!

As herbiepopnecker says, "A Mac is what a computer should cost" and he works with both systems.

Still debating whether to get an iPod or iTouch to add to the short list.
