Truck-like as in blunt, squarish, etc. Not as aerodynamic, say, as an 8-er.
As you say, SovietSunrise, they were compelled. And it still is a BMW, so what else is there to say !?!

Well, I'm certainly not so sure if I would describe it as "truck-like". But, if you gotta do what you gotta do to be in keeping with (proper and appropriate) regulations, I do not fault BMW AG in the least.
I'd rather have their cars than not have them.

Primarily, I do not like the truck-like front end. I realize that the EU mandated that shape due to pedestrian safety - but I do not understand how the blunt front will be of any benefit should it strike a human body. Seems like aerodynamics would be a fatality long before it would help a pedestrian.

Yeah, I guess we'll see what happens and whether or not we'll have to "warm up to it" like we did with the Bangle cars.
Some really sad piece of news, though, is that the next-generation M5 will no longer be V-10. It'll be a twin-turbocharged V-8 :(

To early for me to decide yet. I am not overly fond of it, but then again it is away from the Chris Bangle designs that tried to kill BMW.
