Get it detailed and rush it to auction. Like anything bad, upsetting, put it behind you.

Hard to answer your question without any info. Need year, model and is the check engine light on? What is it doing? Not turning , wont start, all that but won't move. Without more info none could tell you exactly or close to it. Sorry. Help us and we can help you. Not saying it will be cheap but who knows.

Years ago I had a car I let my daughter drive and she calls and said it is locked up wont start. I thought she blew the engine. Found out it was the power stering that went out. Where I thought I was going to have to spend 2 grand or more ended up at 140 dollars.

What does being a chick have to do with it? Buck-up and learn about your car!
Amazingly, you will find repairs and maintenance you can do yourself.

And, yes, duct tape is good stuff; I always thought Luminas
came from the factory with a free roll (evil chuckle ;P)

Check it's blue book value online for trade in, if that number is smaller than the amount to repair it, then trade it in. If your repairs cost will exceed your vehicle value it is a TOTAL LOSS. if you are ever in an accident you will get ACV "actual cash value" it is at or less than trade in value.

Before you go to buy a car do a search for the best dependable used cars and pick the top 4 choices, shop for only those on the top pick chart even if it is #7, that is a better indicator of a car that will not leave you stranded. If you have to finance. See of you can get a line of credit from your bank or credit union before you go to a dealer that way you have a top price you can afford and you will not get stuck with more $ payment every month.

Tell the dealer this is the most I can pay bottom line, If they do not seem to be helpful tell them you will be back tomorrow, you have to go pick your son up from piano practice and never go back.

Good luck

Check around to see if there are any "Push, Pull, Drag" sales going on in your area. Then "push, pull, or drag" that "Piece of crap" there and get yourself a better car.

OK.....!
Is the body falling apart? - Duck tape works wonders & is fairly cheap. Also check a local junk yard for some of the damaged fendors.

Is the interior falling apart? - Duck tape again works wonders & is fairly cheap. Also check a local junk yard for some new seats or other parts.

Is the Transmission falling apart? - Take it to a trans shop that gives free estimates. If the cost to repair is too expensive. Get rid of the car & get something newer, better, not falling apart.

Is the Engine falling apart? - Take it to a local mechanic that gives free estimates. If the cost to repair is too expensive. Get rid of the car & get something newer, better, not falling apart.

Don't let anyone pressure you with repairing the car. Do understand that if the car is UNSAFE to drive you can cause an accident & kill someone or yourself. Do a little homework & see how much you have to spend. If it is cheaper to buy another car, take a friend that knows a little about cars to look at it or have him look at your present car & estimate what is wrong with it.
good Luck.
