It's a crap shoot no mater what though !!

Late winter and early spring are perfect. Especially if you are heading skiing or to the desert. Weather is perfect , no crowds, and NO BUGS!!! Try going to one of the typical bigtime tourist attractions right now. TAke for example the Grand Canyon. You will drive right in the access road with no traffic, none of the normal gridlock, park by the front gate, and have a pleasant amount of other people around, -NO CROWDS...

I want kids to be in school. Can't travel during Hurricane Season either. Headed to the Caribbean in a coupleof weeks on Jan 27th; then a 28-day Panama Canal cruise in March.

Right now, Sept, and Oct are good times to hit the road. Crowds gone at tourist places, hotels uncrowded, flights and rental cars better buys.

Thats for pleasure travel. First 2 weeks of July? Forget it. I stay home. Probably the worst time to travel. I like to go places off season or shoulder season. Christmas or Easter school vacations is also a good time to stay home. Camping, hiking and bikepacking are best from early August to September. Not much rain, bugs have bugged out, and temps are great.

I prefer to see Western Canada during the warmer months of May to October. The remainder of the year - November to April - sightseeing in the American Southwest is a wonderful way to pass the winter months. People in the states of Arizona and New Mexico seem to be particularly friendly and helpful. Will return to this region soon.

Aircraft and hotel deals galore. Tourist attractions much less jammed. Time to see the Grand Canyon. . . For skiing November and March are my favorite. Rockies get snow often in Nov. Spring skiing in March is the best conditions. . . Mid winter before Christmas rocks for the southwest. Warm and comfortable. Snowbirds often stay home until after Christmas. Similiar in Florida, see Disney (if you must) between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also NYC peaks from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
