Pick up a book called "Maui Revealed" It has almost anything you need for finding great snorkle spots on Maui. I think that Molokini was overrated as we saw more fish in the "Fishbowl" (I borrowed out my book and haven't gotten it back to give you directions.) Friends spent alot of time around Black Rock at the Sheraton on Kaanapali Beach and said the snorkeling was fantastic. We found some cool hikes to some waterfalls in the book too.

Maui is much too touristy. Kauai is much better.

14 mile post is a start. Just get a map of dive sights from anywhere. Lahina Divers is a great place for info. and equipment. The blowhole is worth the trip. Lots of break-in for cars in the parking lot (Really a mud flat). We teamed up with others stoping to see the hole and had someone at the cars at all times. Someone will offer to sell you "weed" somewhere up there too.

It's been many, many years since I lived on Maui, and the names of the best snorkeling sites escape me, but I think one was called Slaughterhouse beach. By far, that was my favorite place to SCUBA.

We just got back from Maui.We took a day cruise to Lana, the snorkling was wonderful. We also seen about 15 wild dolphins, but they made us get out of the water and back on board the boat as they are very protective about swimming near the dolphins. Enjoy a Luau while you're there.
