Goose Gossage deserves to be in the Hall, but so does Jim Rice. Playing for the Yankees may have given Goose an advantage with the voters.

I'd like to add my congrats to Goose. Did anyone see him on Letterman last night doing the top ten list?

Great! My Gossage rookie card just went up a quarter. Now if I can only find it.

Maybe someone can explain it to me. If the BBWAA can vote for up to 10 players on their ballet. Why should lean years make a difference. It seems to me that they either deserve it, or they don't.

Good question Zim, you just eliminated these caps:
Pittsburgh Pirates (1977)
Chicago Cubs (1988)
San Francisco Giants (1989)
Fukuoka Daiei Hawks (1990)
Texas Rangers (1991)
Oakland Athletics (1992-1993)
Seattle Mariners (1994)

Now the question is does he have a Yankees cap on his plaque, or a Padres or White Sox?

Congrats to Goose! A well-deserving honor.

Blyleven, Dawson, Rice and Smith were snubbed and robbed by the BBWAA, again.

Everyone benefited from a lean first year crop. Next year Rickey Henderson should IMHO be a first ballot shoo-in (did he really play 25 seasons?!) but there's probably no other new HOF material on the ballot. So maybe the next 3 finishers this year can make the leap.

Future ballot eligibles can be found near the bottom of this page

Congrats to Gossage. I think Rice & Dawson should have made it also.
