Running QBs like RGIII typically have shorter careers. I like the more traditional QBs like Luck.

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III’s jersey sets NFL sales records Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III set an NFL single-season record for passer rating by a rookie (102.4) while earning NFL Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors last season.
Griffin also had the top-selling jersey in NFL history, Darren Rovell of ESPN.com reports.

I don't know about Luck, but RG3 needs to find a way to stay on the field and not take these unnecessary hits! Redskins are fortunate that he'll be ready for opening day.
You could ask the same thing about Wilson.

Luck, Wilson, & RGIII have all had great rookie seasons. No reason for ANYONE to denigrate any one of them.

RG III Gets 'Uncle Tom' Treatment To a black ESPN sports analyst, this is the critical question: Is Robert Griffin III, aka RG III, the black rookie sensation Washington Redskins quarterback, “a brother, or is he a cornball brother?” What has RG III done or said to raise a suspicion about his bona fides as a black person? More importantly, what does this have to do with appreciating -- or choosing not to appreciate -- Griffin as an athlete?

Luck and Griffin have both been outstanding, considering they are rookies. The one who does better over the long term is the one who suffers the fewest injuries.

I totally agree coach. And none other than former scrambling, then HOF drop back passer Steve Young agrees too. Shanahan thinks that RG3 is still playing in the Big 12. An NFL QB running an option is asking for trouble, or broken ribs or both.

I think there are about 12-15 other NFL teams that would be more than happy to have either one!
I would say, however that I think Luck might last longer because he runs a "lower risk" offense than RG3.

Bringing a team from 2 wins to playoff contention is reason enough for Luck to be rookie of the year, if not MVP! RG3 is remarkably smart as well as accurate. But long-term prospects favor Luck because he'll be less injury-prone.

Luck, absolutely. Coming in as a replacement for Peyton Manning, and the manning up, priceless.
He has fought through adversity, without whining (hello, the Dlines are hitting me too hard), and quietly fought week after week to make a team his own. I addition, facing coaching issues, with the head coach being out due to his own illnesses. This QB deserves the MVP.

AND he took at least 2 very, very vicious hits. I'm thinking that his extemely athletic body will never, ever hold up long term in today's NFL. Mark my words.

RGIII made a big statement yesterday. Threw a strike that traveled 65 yards in the air. Cool under pressure. Plays from the pocket and runs when it is necessary. His stock has really gone up. JJ will take him.

Andrew Luck's progress is Indianapolis Colts' good fortune If Indy wanted a carbon copy of Peyton Manning, it made the right call in choosing the former Stanford Cardinal quarterback.
