I was extremely disappointed that NBC chose not to air the men's basketball final, except live at 2:30 am on the east coast. I was very disappointed with the NBC programming after the first week. Many events were left out entirely or only made appearances the final two days. I was very disappointed with the track & field coverage. I knew results of nearly every event 10-12 full hours before it was televised. Why not show some of those events live on their daytime coverage?

Sure did. The opening ceremonies were AWESOME, but the closing ceremonies were OK. I have watched the games almost every night for two weeks, and the events were exciting, especially the swimming and the basketball competition. What a relief that it's over so I could go to sleep earier. :)

I'm with you SAVMOR. I too found the closing ceremonies to be lacking in excitement. After 10 minutes of drum beating and 15 minutes of people running up and down that tower I had to find something else.
The opening ceremonies were better, but those too failed to hold my attention as other ceremonies have in the past. I suspect it has something to do with the cultural differences. The ceremonies were too culturally centered for my taste.

Yes, we watched a little each day and must say the opening ceremony was great, but the closing one was a little overdone and long and really not that interesting. People, people everywhere, running, dancing, singing, flying overhead, climbing up a tower, fire works. Enough already! We finally turned it off. We mainly watched to see how they would extinguish the flame after and they just turned it off.

I watched just about everything in the 2006 Olympics.
I was off from work on a medical leave and was bored silly. I had therapy appointments every workday during the day.
Now, in 2008, I haven't watched any of it.

trying to... difficult to tell when exactly certain events will be aired though unless you sit through the broadcast and watch the "_____ competition in 16 minutes!" messages. But it's fun watching sports that I might never watch otherwise!

Absolutely. It's one of the few sporting events that I pay attention to nowadays.

Yes, I love watching the Olympics. MOST of the athletes are in it for the competition and not for huge $$$.
