It includes everyone from the roughneck in North Dakota drilling a new oil well, to a trucker driving equipment to that oil job site, to jobs created by the spending of those oil workers, such as a clerk at a Wal-Mart or a stripper serving the workers drawn to one of those North Dakota oil boomtowns." When you're counting Wal-Mart clerks and greeters, and McDonald's fry cooks, as "oil jobs," then I think it's a little disingenuous. On the flip side, if you're counting all those jobs, then even when oil production goes down a little, the overall effect on the job market is probably minor.
