Speaking from atop a 174-foot (53-meter) drilling tower aboard the Noble Discoverer in Port Taranaki, Lawless told The Associated Press on Friday that wind gusts were making it difficult to stay put but that she and the other protesters planned to stay there for "as long as we possibly can." She said she had a "little bit" of food and some provisions with her.

These nut jobs aren’t interfering with the mechanical operation of the ship. The ship can move with the uninvited guests hanging from the top of a 174 foot rig. The ship is headed for the Arctic If they don’t fall to their death or freeze they can be held on the ship as stowaways until the ship returns to port. Once the ship gets out to international waters if the rig occupiers really want off the ship have the nut jobs transferred to the country the ship is flagged in. That happens to be Panama. Then they can be arrested and charged with trespassing and ordered to repay any lost revenue and expenses incurred by the rig and the company that contracted it. Some time in a Panamanian jail should give these people something more important to concern themselves with. If Miss Lawless want to get involved with eco-terrorists, Shell should file suit against her for restitution of the money lost because the rig was held up. If I am reading my research correctly the drill ship leases for $459,000 a day. How long do you think Miss Lawless can keep this up without going broke?
