yea, in nebraska, people that watch that station, and called in for survey : When you fill up your vehicle, do use ethanol blended fuel??? Results:
38% say yes, 62% say no... NOW THAT IS AMAZING! Even I use ethanol blended fuel... Not necesarily by choice since e0 in a grade I would use is no where to be found within 50 miles...

Interesting marketing that appears to meet a customer need. I was a bit disturbed to read the spelling error (at least I hope is was an error).
"I don't think it will be as dramatically quick as many invasion it,
Hopefully 'envision' was the word they were going for?

Gamechanger, I have been away from here for some time. It looks like you have taken charge. That is ok, for I like what you are saying.

ProfDude. Unleaded, mid grade and premium all have 10% ethanol...except at the locations that are advertising "no ethanol" gasoline. E10, in our area, runs between probably 7 to 15 cents cheaper then E0...depending on the day. We have 10% ethanol.

I believe they have had E85 at Aurora for over 5 years now. I have been using that station occasionally. Unfortunately, after they changed their ownership in their local ethanol plant they have not been posting as competitive a price.

Aurora is not the first site that coop has had for blender pumps. They have had them in York and Grand island for over a year. They are just good at their PR work.

gamechanger2011, what is the premium that you have there? Is that also an ethanol blend or is it a pure gasoline product that is refined differently?
On a recent trip from Chicago area to eastern Iowa I was surprised to see that "premium" there was a higher octane ethanol blend (E10?) in effect and so it was less expensive than "regular" which must have been 87 octane E0.
Here we only have various E10 blends, I think, for regular, midgrade and premium. Perhaps I am wrong on that, not sure, since I haven't needed the higher priced/octane gasoline much.

I like the idea ! As you dial in more ethanol, will the price dial down as well to refect the inefficiency differential?

Logistics and price are a big factor. The more locations, the more access. People don't want to drive across town to fill up with E85. It needs to be accessible to make it work. The more blender pumps the better, to give people a choice at the pumps.

ProfDude...all great questions! The blender pumps that we have offer 5 different blends. Another poster suggested that it would be great if the consumer could pick their own blend and the dispenser could dispense that particular blend. That would be awesome if someday blenders could do that. I think that in the future that will be possible.
The retailer picks the blends that they want to offer and the blenders have to be calibrated to those blends. We have E15, E50, E85, unleaded/E10 and Premium. Thinking of adding E30 as well, but will have to boot one of the other blends to add it, as there are only 5 blends on the dispensers.
I think that all todays blender pumps offer no more then 5 blends.

So, does this mean that I could select any range from E0 through E85 with a blender pump?
I presume this would not be possible - as it would be impossible to have matching variable pricing.
So, how does a retailer decide which blends are best (from a market standpoint more than a scientific fuel efficiency standpoint)?
How many different blends can a retailer offer at one pump?

for the haters - a news article is not promoting a certain business according to terms of this site
the journalist that works for the place it was published decided the location of this new blender pump is important to the article
if you believe this kind of article is promoting a business then even articles that mention the name and address of a business that was robbed last night is promoting the business
news is news and any news that is tied to a certain location rather than some random place you pick with a dart and a map on the wall then mentioning the location is not advertising
