Yes, detergents are in all gasoline. Guess what, kiddies, not all gasoline has the same levels, and some brands have actually cut the levels over the years. So, believe "gas is gas" if you like, but it ain't necessarily so! Your auto is likely the 2nd most expensive possession you have, why not take care of the fuel with the same zeal as the oil, tires, transmission, etc? Since the minimum additive performance standards were established by the EPA in 1995, most gasoline marketers have actually reduced the concentration of detergent additive by up to 50% because the EPA has reduced the requirements. As a result, the ability vehicles to maintain stringent Tier 2 emission standards has been impaired, leading to engine deposits. Actually, it works just fine!
And with the cards that do save money, don't carry a balance or at the very least anything over $50!
