I'd be inclined to agree with you but I've never even clicked on the Fuel Logbook link in my life and therefore cannot comment.

OK, I just verified what was stated below by adding all the mpg averages for my car and came up with the bogus 2012 average for the year. So stupid and worthless.

I believe the "known bug" is that the fuel logbook computes an unweighted average of the mpg figures for each interval; e.g., if the first interval is 5 miles, 1 gallon, for 5 mpg, and the second 60 miles, 4 gallons, for 15 mpg, then the average is computed as (5+15)/2 = 10 mpg instead of (5+60)/(1+4) = 13 mpg. Is this what we're all talking about?

So how does that apply to the current problem that cheapmonkee is having?

Miles driven/gallons purchased=mpg. If the GasBuddy running mpg average differs from that figure then it makes NO SENSE. Fuelly.com is accurate. If this was my site I would fix it ASAP, (it would be a major embarrassment to me) this is not rocket science.

This has been discussed in the past, and the explanation of how the calculations are performed made sense at the time.
