Have been trying to post on another member's whiteboard. Every time I hit submit, it takes me to the log-in page!
Has anybody else had this problem?
And no, it is not an Internet Explorer thing, I am using Opera. Everything else works, including making this post.

These computers can be tricky, can't they?

Thanks for the input people, it appears as if it is a relatively isolated phenomenon.

I won't bother re-installing Opera if the GasBuddy whiteboard is the only thing I have found where it just plain doesn't work for me.
If it didn't work on GasBuddy period, or on any other sites I use it for, or if it were my only browser, that would be different, but I have 3 other browsers, and Opera works fine otherwise, so I am not going to take the time to re-install until the next update comes out.
Heck, it could even be a glitch in our connection to the internet. We are on DSL, but go through a long distance repeater. Remember the pops and squeals we used to find on downloaded mp3s that were caused by servers that didn't know how to handle them properly?

I asked if anybody else had seen the phenomenon. I had never seen it before updating to Opera 11.60 If nobody else has, I will assume whatever caused it is a strange glitch. I do have 3 other browsers where I have not observed it, posting to whiteboards works fine. Based on what I have seen, and what others have seen, I do not think it is worth worrying about, I just won't use Opera to post on whiteboards.

The message I posted to your whiteboard was done with Opera 11.60 running on a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 SP 1.

Just posted on 2 members whiteboards using IE. Posted on another using Firefox, and another using Chrome (the one I couldn't post on using Opera). No problems with those browswers found.
It seems to be a new issue narrowed down to GB and Opera. Opera at one time rendered GB a little different, but has been fine for some time.
This is why I mentioned I was using Opera, I haven't seen it with any other browser, and had never seen it with Opera, either, but I just updated Opera a few days ago.

I've written to other whiteboards today with no trouble. I wonder if it could be rumbleseat is banned from writing to someones whiteboard that is creating the problem.

My friend told me that happened when he was a new member--then he realized he had to earn 15,000 points to be able to post to a whiteboard.

Never heard of that before nor have I had that trouble rumbleseat. Does it happen with any other browser or on another whiteboard?

rumbleseat,

Is it only one person's white board that's acting this way?

The problem as described is inconsistent with settings that allow only buddies to post on a whiteboard. In that case, rumbleseat would not have a box to type into at all. It is also inconsistent with rumbleseat being blocked from writing on the whiteboard. In that case, rumbleseat would have a dialog box to type into but the post would be removed as soon as it was posted.

I'm not sure what happens if he is on someones ignore list.

Maybe the whiteboard in question is configured to allow only buddies to post there. Are your observations consistent with that hypothesis?
