When I stoped getting points yesterday I had gotten 1 Ticket for the Drawing and had 990 Points to start today, but after I posted 2 stations it said I still needed 260 points. Simple math they screwed me out of 500 points. And I do not like it. What the hell do they think? We are doing this for the Fun of it?

Seeker13, I am doing it for the fun of it. The free gas cards are just an added bonus. My wife actually complains that I spend too much time worried about my gas prices. Besides, I have never had any problems with being credited with earned points.

Actually I am doing it for the fun of it! Plus the added fact we may also win a $250 gas card if you happen to get picked. Besides there being a lot of interesting people on here from all walks of life, all with different experiences.

Come on rookie, get in the game, they didn't cheat you out of anything, and if that did happen they would correct it.

I kinda thought it is was more of a public service to let others know the price of fuel in their area.

Bummer about your points. Just like these people at Gas Buddy to skim points. I am SURE the additional ticket would have won something for you. I'll bet it's some shady Gas Buddy employee who's taking the points. Think about it. If he/she skimmed 1 point off of each GB member a day .. . ..

BTW, does anyone know how many GB points I need for a Caribbean cruise?

It's because you got the 750 points for posting prices and it was telling you you need 260 more for your next 1000 level. Take 990 + 750 = 1740 which is 260 points from the next thousand!

Actually I do this because I think it is a great site. It's benefits come from those who post prices for the benefit of all. In return I feel obligated to post prices as well. Sort of a give and take thing. Then there are those that contribute little but seem to complain the loudest. Contribute more and the points will take care of themselves.

I'm sorry but am I missing something in reading "We are doing this for the Fun of it?"

Yes, actually, we are doing this for the fun of it. It's not a serious concern or a serious issue when people post gas prices anonymously, is it? You really think you were "screwed" out of something because you didn't get imaginary points for posting the price of gas at a station you happened to drive or walk by? You were "screwed" enough to say "What the hell do they think? My question would be, "What the hell do you think, complaining because something you posted anonymously didn't generate any "points" in order for you to get a "Ticket for the Drawing"?

For that you're going to complain like you are? For pete's sake, get a life. Simply exit the program, go back into it, and post again. I hope the hell you have more important things in life to do and complain about.

If you want to complain about something, as a 71-day member of Gas Buddy, why not complain why you have only been given credit for 21,420 points when you surely have posted for maximum points every day. Uh...you have, haven't you?

I'm doing it to put good price info out for everyone in my area. A card would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.

I had exactly one case where my point total did not increase after submitting prices (but the screen updated). I just submitted them again. Suggest you try the same.
