Yes mileage usually improves in the warmer months. Running cold in the winter is rough on mileage. It is hard on engines too. In really cold place like N. Dakota, Minnesota and Alaska they put engine pre-heaters on their cars and trucks so that the engines can be started warm. In many cases it is the difference between starting or not.

Yes I've always noticed a difference between in mileage between summer and winter. a few of the reasons are.
Summer blend gas is different from winter blend.
It takes less time for your engine to get up to normal running temp in the summer even when you start and go.
People don't tend to idle their automobile as much because there is no need to "warm" it up in the summer.

Yes. Better MPG in summer. Denser more moist air helps.

A change of ~1mpg is a change of just over 5%. That is not that big of a change.
If you went from 19 to 26, that is a different story.
Air temp changes, winter/summer blends in gas, different stations might have different Ethanol content depending on your state laws...
There are too many variables to try to find out why you are getting 1 more mile per gallon.

Overall, no. But my FE was up when I fueled up at a station at the corner of hwy169 and hwy141. The station was called FUEL. Price was about 17 cents less at 3.29/gal. Only problem was that after half the tank was used, the check engine light came on and stayed on until I ran some fuel through from my home station. I'm thinking maybe the hwy station had water in it's fuel maybe.

Yup...changed the wires, plugs, rotor, cap, and did the timing....and only use Shell (ethanol free)...42 mpg on the highway @ 60 mph avg.Not bad for a '91 Golf 1.8l

Ever since I've started using ethanol free gas a little over 3 months ago, the mpg on my cars have increased by at least 3 mpg.

No difference unless I've been running late and have to drive faster.

I pumped my tires from low 30s to mid 40s. Ride is more precise in corning, not much difference in comfort at all, better FE for sure :)

My FE has improved since the Spring, but I've attributed it to a vacuum leak repair that I had back in Apr..

There could be several factors involved. Outdoor climate can have slight affect on Tire pressure. Tire pressure can have have a decent impact on MPG.
